It doesn’t seem possible but it’s already been 5 weeks since Hannah was born. Since coming home from the hospital, we haven’t gotten out much. In Japan, it is customary not to leave the house with the baby for one hundred days. We lasted about 22 days, and finally went out for a few hours. Hannah mostly slept through the experience. It’s strange how things don’t work out as you had planned them. She can’t stand her crib, and cries whenever we put her in it. She prefers to sleep in the bassinet so we just put her in that whenever she falls asleep. Getting a schedule down has been fairly effective, but she still wakes up sometimes (outside of feeding) around 3:00 and it usually takes over an hour to get her back down. She makes strange noises all night that sometimes resemble choking and wheezing sounds. She loves bath time and riding in her stroller. She’s developed some baby acne, but hopefully it will go away in a month or two. She looks at Rie constantly, but when it comes to me, she’d rather look at the corners of the walls. Here are some updated pictures. Rie took them all. Like I said, whenever I get into her field of vision, her eyes dart to the nearest corner, so it’s difficult for me to get shots where she looks at the camera.
See the averting of the eyes while I hold her?
